NFL Great Travis Kelce Aspires to Pursue a Career in Showbiz

Travis Kelce is already a legend on the football field. But now, he is testing his skills in Hollywood. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is dipping his toes into the entertainment world while staying committed to his first love: Football. With roles in FX’s horror series “Grotesquerie” and the upcoming “Happy Gilmore 2,” plus a hosting gig on Prime Video’s “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?”, Kelce is proving he has got more than just game-day charisma.

But don’t expect him to swap his cleats for a full-time Hollywood career just yet.

While he enjoys the entertainment industry, he is taking his time figuring out where he fits best. As he put it, “I think you will see me continue to find my lane.”

Travis Kelce Takes the Game Show Stage

Travis / IG / “I still love coming in to work, getting after it, and chasing championships,” Kelce said in a recent interview.

On October 16, Kelce makes his debut as the host of “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?” on Prime Video. It is a fresh spin on the original trivia game show, where adult contestants tackle elementary school-level questions. Celebrities like comedians Ron Funches and Nikki Glaser, former NFL star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, and reality TV’s Lala Kent lend a hand. The final sixth-grade question is worth a hefty $100,000.

Hosting a game show is new territory for Kelce. But it is also a nostalgic experience. Growing up, he and his brother Jason Kelce, a former Philadelphia Eagles center, spent hours watching shows like “Double Dare,” “Legends of the Hidden Temple,” “Family Feud,” and “Price is Right.”

Their dad, Ed Kelce, always took control of the remote when “Jeopardy!” came on. That love for game shows made this hosting opportunity one he could not pass up.

Kelce Adjusts to Life on Set

Transitioning from high-energy football games to long days on a television set was not easy. Kelce admitted that adjusting to the slower pace of filming was one of the toughest parts.

Beyond the game show world, Travis Kelce is stepping into acting. His role in FX’s horror series “Grotesquerie” is a departure from his usual spotlight. But he is having fun exploring different sides of entertainment. He even landed a cameo in “Happy Gilmore 2,” a sequel to Adam Sandler’s classic comedy. With his natural charisma, it is easy to see why Hollywood is calling.

Travis / IG / Travis Kelce is still getting used to seeing himself on screen. While he plans to watch the episodes, he admits he is his own toughest critic.

Still, he knows his limits. “I’m a quarterback at heart,” he said, referring to his football career. His role as a tight end suits him better now, and for all his Hollywood adventures, football remains his priority.

The Future of Travis Kelce in Entertainment

While he is having a blast in Hollywood, Kelce is not rushing anything. He is taking each opportunity as it comes, whether it is hosting, acting, or appearing on his popular podcast with Jason. One thing is for sure: He is staying true to himself.

For now, Kelce is balancing the best of both worlds. He is having fun in entertainment but keeping his focus on the NFL. As long as football is in his life, Hollywood will have to wait its turn. But when the time is right, don’t be surprised if Travis Kelce becomes as big a star on screen as he is on the field.
